Prof. (Dr.) Shyamapada Bhowmik, is a distinguished professor, author from Kharagpur, West Bengal. Specialising in the social and political history of Bengal — especially Midnapur — he has made enduring contributions to the study of working-class movements, militant nationalism, tribal resistance, and regional history. Over a prolific career spanning more than three decades, he has authored and edited numerous books, published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, and represented India at prestigious international conferences across Asia, Europe, and Africa. Now Dr. Bhowmik is extensively engaged in social works in rural areas.
